Global Consensus Statement on Simulation-based Practice in Healthcare

The Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) and the Society for Simulation in Europe (SESAM) led an international collaborative effort to establish a global consensus on the key priorities for the broad adoption of exemplary simulation practice that benefits patients and healthcare workforces.

The outcome of this effort, titled Global Consensus Statement on Simulation-based Practice, is the culmination of an iterative consultation process involving 50 societies across 67 countries.

We are happy to have participated in this effort here at NCCMMS!

The paper is intended to inform policy makers, healthcare organization leaders, health education institutions, and simulation practitioners, and is a first step in lengthy journey to elevate healthcare simulation use and investment worldwide.

The paper is open access, and available through the Simulation in Healthcare, Advanced in Simulation, and Clinical Simulation in Nursing journal sites.
